Shot peening is a kind of cold processing technology which uses spherical object to carry on high speed impact on workpiece surface. According to the relevant specifications, spherical objects are usually cast steel shot, pre-cast steel wire cut pill, ceramic pill or glass pill. The process is usually carried out in enclosed spaces (such as boxes or other similar enclosed spaces) so that pellets can be recycled and recycled to control the dust emitted. The power source of the shot peening process is mechanical centrifugal ejection, which can also be used to provide power for pellet pellets by compressed air. The aim of the process is to increase the surface strength of workpiece to improve the fatigue life of workpiece surface. Steel shot peening can also improve the resistance of the workpiece to corrosion. In some areas of application, steel pill hardening is also used to change the shape of the workpiece in a controlled manner, which is called "Steel pill forming".
